| No storage device with more than 1 Gigabyte capacity may be used at school without the permission of the technician. |
When you are at school, you can upload files to teachers via this link. (You cannot upload files from home.)
This is the most efficient method. Make sure that you also have a copy of your files saved on your computer, as sometimes usb drives can lose data.
You can email your work to yourself as an attachment. Note that some file attachments (eg .zip) get quarantined, so it is usually best to change the file extension to .ooo (or similar) and then change it back when you open the email later.
You can access your h drive to upload and download files from home. Go to http://www.newtown.tased.edu.au/home You will be asked for your username and password. Put in schools\fred.bloggs.00 for your username and your usual password. (Note you must replace fred.bloggs.00 with your own username!)
The student computers at New Town High do not have floppy disk or CD drives, so this is not the best method for transferring files.
If floppy disk is the only option available to you, and if your teacher was willing they could borrow a USB floppy drive from the technician.
Your teacher will accept your work from home on CD if necessary. You should check with your teacher first. There are no cd writers available for student use at school.
